[BREAKING] APC Convention: There Was No Consensus, Because Consensus In Law Means Meeting Of Minds- Musdapher

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mohammed Bello Musdapher, has raised serious allegations of manipulation against the party’s leadership following the outcome of the zonal congress held in Gombe, headquarters of Gombe State, on March 24 and 25, 2026.

Musdapher, who contested the office of National Vice Chairman Northeast at the congress, alleged that the exercise was neither transparent nor procedurally sound, insisting that the process adopted fell short of the party’s own constitutional standards.

Speaking in an interview on Arise News, the APC chieftain dismissed claims that a valid consensus was reached among aspirants before the convention, arguing that the outcome was predetermined from Abuja.

“There was no consensus, because consensus in law means meeting of minds,” he declared.

Musdapher maintained that he fulfilled all screening requirements, including purchasing the nomination form and paying four years of party dues, only to be told that an anointed candidate had already been imposed from the national headquarters.

He further revealed that the zone was caught between two rival preferred candidates, one backed by Abuja and another by northeast governors, effectively making a genuine consensus impossible.

The chieftain confirmed that he has since written a formal complaint to the party’s national chairman and vowed to pursue all legitimate channels to reclaim what he described as a seat that rightfully belongs to him.
