BREAKING: 2027: I Told Peter Obi Before He Joined ADC That I Hoped There Was A Deal with Atiku Abubakar – Dickson Iroegbu

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member and filmmaker Dickson Iroegbu has disclosed that he raised early concerns about internal dynamics within the African Democratic Congress, particularly regarding its leadership structure and potential divisions.

Speaking in an interview shared by Signature TV, Iroegbu revealed that he privately contacted Peter Obi before his move to the ADC. He explained that his intention was to caution Obi about the need for clarity in political alignment within the party.

According to Iroegbu, his primary concern was whether there had been a prior understanding between Obi and Atiku Abubakar, given Atiku’s influence within opposition politics. He suggested that such an agreement would have been essential in maintaining unity and avoiding internal disputes.

In his words, “I reached out to Peter Obi and told him at the beginning, before he joined the ADC, that I hoped there was a deal with Atiku Abubakar.”

He further emphasized that without clear coordination among key political figures, the party risks internal fragmentation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Iroegbu noted that unresolved differences among influential stakeholders could undermine the opposition’s strength and electoral prospects.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of prioritizing national interest over individual ambition in political alliances. According to him, cohesive collaboration among opposition leaders is necessary to present a credible alternative and avoid weakening their collective position.

His remarks highlight ongoing concerns about unity within opposition parties as political actors begin positioning themselves for future electoral contests.
