Lauren Bennett, a British pop singer best recognized for her vocals on LMFAO’s 2011 song ‘Party Rock Anthem,’ died at the age of 37.
Lauren’s female group band, G.R.L, confirmed her death in an Instagram post on Monday.
In the tribute, the group expressed their sadness over the singer’s death, describing her as someone whose kindness and energy touched many people.
“We share with deep sadness the death of our darling Lauren. Our hearts are devastated, and we can’t describe how much she meant to us. “We will always treasure the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us,” the statement said.
“Her beautiful spirit impacted so many lives, and she will be sadly missed and always cherished. Rest peacefully, Lauren. “You’ll always be in our hearts.
However, the cause of death has not been revealed. Lauren was born in Meopham, Kent, and began singing in local talent shows, taverns, and bars before auditioning for The X Factor as a teenager.
Although she did not make it past the final 12, she later joined the girl group Paradiso Girls and moved to Los Angeles at 17.
The group’s 2009 single ‘Patron Tequila’, which featured Lil Jon and Eve, peaked at No. 3 on the US Dance Club Songs list.
In 2011, she garnered global acclaim for her vocals on LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ before joining G.R.L. The group’s biggest song was Ugly Heart, which peaked in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
