According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Monday, May 11, 2026, Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, has sharply criticised U.S. President Donald Trump over recent comments regarding Iran and the ongoing conflict between Washington and Tehran.
Velayati accused Trump of presenting what he described as contradictory messages by celebrating a “glorious ceasefire” while continuing to make statements concerning Iran’s nuclear activities and military capabilities.
According to Velayati, Trump’s remarks suggest continued reliance on Pentagon assessments regarding the conflict, including claims about the extent of American military losses.
The senior Iranian official also warned the U.S. president against interpreting Iran’s current restraint as weakness, cautioning that Tehran would not accept any attempt by Washington to portray itself as victorious diplomatically or militarily.
Addressing Trump directly, Velayati stated: “We defeated you on the battlefield, so never think that you will emerge victorious through diplomacy.”
He further suggested that the United States should not assume it can leverage the current situation to strengthen its international standing, particularly in relation to global powers such as China.
The remarks come amid continuing tensions between Iran and the United States following months of conflict, stalled negotiations, and disputes surrounding sanctions, military operations, and Iran’s nuclear programme.
Both governments have continued to exchange strong rhetoric despite ongoing international calls for de-escalation and renewed diplomatic engagement.
Velayati’s comments reflect the increasingly confrontational tone adopted by senior Iranian officials in recent weeks, as uncertainty persists over the future of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Neither the White House nor U.S. defence officials have publicly responded to the latest statements.
International observers continue to monitor developments closely as concerns remain over regional security, global energy markets, and the risk of renewed escalation in the Middle East.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
