Chelsea Eye €100m Deal for Explosive 17-Goal World Cup Forward as Club Reveals Transfer Stance
According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicle on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Chelsea are preparing a huge offer for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with the German club reportedly setting one major condition before agreeing to a potential sale.
The Blues have identified the Ivory Coast international as one of their top attacking targets this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Chelsea are believed to be ready to test Leipzig’s resolve with a €100 million bid for the talented winger.
Diomande has attracted significant attention following his impressive performances for Ivory Coast during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 19-year-old played a key role in helping his country progress from the group stage, although their campaign came to an end after a Round of 32 defeat against Norway.
Despite not scoring at the tournament, Diomande showcased his ability to trouble defenders with his pace, skill and attacking creativity. During his four World Cup appearances, the winger recorded an average of 2.5 successful dribbles per game and 2.8 key passes per match, highlighting his influence in the final third.
The Leipzig star currently has 17 career goals to his name, including two goals during his time at Leganés, 12 goals for RB Leipzig last season and three goals for the Ivory Coast national team.
RB Leipzig are reportedly reluctant to lose one of their most promising young players this summer and have no intention of selling him unless their demands are met. However, the Bundesliga club could consider a deal if Diomande is immediately loaned back to them for another season.
Chelsea are understood to be unwilling to match Leipzig’s valuation of above €120 million, but they could still submit a €100 million proposal in an attempt to negotiate an agreement. The London club are also said to be prepared to offer the winger a long-term contract.
The Blues face competition from Liverpool, who are also monitoring Diomande as they prepare for life after Mohamed Salah. The youngster’s ability to operate on both wings has made him an attractive option for several top European clubs.
