Lawyer and former spokesperson for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, Kenneth Okonkwo, has clarified comments he previously made about former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, insisting that he did not personally describe the former presidential candidate as corrupt.

Okonkwo made the clarification during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, July 10, 2026, where he addressed what he described as a misunderstanding of his earlier remarks.
