BREAKING: Let Tell Ourselves The Truth. Donald Duke Cannot Defeat Tinubu, Sowore Cannot, Peter Cannot-Akeregha

According to a recent interview on Symfoni TV on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Public affairs analyst and veteran journalist, Igho Akeregha, has weighed in on the permutations ahead of the 2027 presidential election, insisting that several opposition figures lack the political strength to unseat President Bola Tinubu individually.

Speaking during an interview, Akeregha argued that the opposition’s greatest mistake was its failure to unite behind a single candidate before the election season gathered momentum.

According to him, “Let us tell ourselves the truth. Donald Duke cannot defeat Tinubu, Sowore cannot, Peter cannot.” Favor As Higher Power? (The hidden truth) Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.

The analyst explained that while some opposition politicians command loyal support bases, none possesses enough nationwide political strength on their own to overcome the electoral machinery of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Akeregha maintained that the opposition would have stood a far better chance if prominent political figures had agreed to work together rather than pursue separate presidential ambitions.

He described the APC as the only major political party currently operating with a united front, adding that the ruling party enjoys an advantage because its internal divisions are minimal compared to those within the opposition.

According to him, newer opposition platforms are still battling low public awareness, with many Nigerians yet to identify their symbols or fully understand their messages.

He urged opposition leaders to intensify voter education through digital platforms and other media outlets long before official campaigns commence.

Akeregha also expressed concern over the continued presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, arguing that repeated contests have weakened efforts to build a broad opposition coalition.

He suggested that disagreements over zoning and the failure of opposition leaders to rally behind one candidate have complicated efforts to present a formidable challenge to Tinubu.

While acknowledging that Peter Obi continues to enjoy significant popularity across parts of the country, particularly among young voters, Akeregha insisted that popularity alone may not be sufficient to secure victory in a fragmented contest.

He further argued that political developments in the coming months, including strategic alliances, defections and key policy decisions by the federal government, could significantly alter the electoral landscape before Nigerians head to the polls.

Akeregha concluded that although the 2027 election remains open, the opposition must overcome its divisions if it hopes to mount a serious challenge against the incumbent president.
