Ninja’s Double Stack air fryer will end your kitchen space crisis

Air fryers are a time saver, but in return, you’ll need to give up a big chunk of counter space. If your kitchen is on the small side, this can be a problem. When you already have a microwave, kettle and toaster on the countertop – and then add an air fryer – it can leave you little room for food preparation.....CONTINUE READING

Enter Ninja’s Double Stack air fryer, which aims to solve this problem with a build that stacks two cooking drawers one on top of the other (as you may have guessed by the product name) instead of side by side, as with the Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone.

Ninja doubles down on its space-saving ethos by providing two cooking racks per drawer, to double the cooking space again.

Even better, it has a multi-cooking mode that’ll allow you to cook four different dishes at the same time, using different cooking methods. It also features the ‘sync’ and ‘match’ functions that’ll be familiar to anyone who already owns a dual-drawer Ninja. Switch on ‘sync’ and the food in both drawers will be ready at the same time, so you can dish up right away. Meanwhile, ‘match’ lets you copy the cooking setting across from one drawer to another.

There are two available models: one with a 9.5-litre capacity, the other 7.6 litres. The smaller of these is just 30cm wide – about the same width as a toaster, which is a great use of space. The 9.5 litre model has the capacity to roast a whole chicken in one drawer, and still has room for two sides in the other. Ninja reckons you can cook a meal for eight people in it.

The air fryer has eight cooking settings: air fry, max crisp, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate. The heat source is at the back of the appliance and, like all air fryers, heat is circulated by a fan to ensure even cooking across all layers of food. The drawers are coated in ceramic non-stick for easy cleaning.

As yet, the Double Stack has only been confirmed for Europe, not the US, and no price or release date has been announced. We’ll be updating this article when we know more. In the meantime, have a look at our round-up of the best air fryers we’ve tested to see our top recommendations.
