1. Never try to make phone calls when it’s thundering outside.
This includes making phone calls, connecting to the Internet, and tuning radios or televisions.
2. Avoid electronic equipment
This pertains to any and all electronic devices, such as stoves, televisions, or any other apparatus that derives its power from electrical sources.
3. Avoid water
Water acts as a conductor of electricity, hence lightning frequently strikes bodies of water. That means that the currents from a lightning strike have the potential to cause severe injuries to you. In point of fact, it has the potential to be fatal. If you hear thunder or see lightning, it is best to stay away from large bodies of water like pools and beaches as well as any other large bodies of water.
4.Avoid concrete.
It is possible for lightning to go through any metal wires or bars that are embedded in concrete walls or flooring.
5. Steer clear of porches.
Stay away from glass surfaces, including windows and doors; it’s also not a good idea to watch a storm while sitting on an open porch.
