BREAKING: Nigerian Players Who Could Change Clubs This Summer

With the European club season all but over, the summer transfer season is almost here. After a couple of World Cup qualifying matches in June, Nigerian players will have the rest of the summer off, giving them plenty of time to plot moves during the summer window. There have already been plenty of top Nigerian players in the rumor mill, so some big moves could be on the horizon. Let’s take a look at some Nigerian players who could change clubs this summer.....CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE

Victor Osimhen

Osimhen could be the biggest striker who changes clubs this summer. He’s become one of the premier goal scorers in Serie A and looks to have outgrown Napoli. Chelsea of the English Premier League is the club that’s been most linked with Osimhen. However, the Blues won’t be the only suitor for the Nigerian striker’s services this summer.

Tosin Adarabyioyo

Speaking of Chelsea, they are also poised to make a play for Adarabyioyo, who is currently playing for London rival Fulham. While he’s yet to make an appearance with the Nigerian national team, Adarabyioyo hasn’t been cap tied to England either, so the 26-year-old center back could still choose to play for the Super Eagles. At club level, Chelsea are eyeing Adarabioyo as a replacement for Thiago Silva. However, Manchester United and Newcastle are also among the clubs hoping to pry him away from Fulham.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Despite helping Leicester City gain immediate promotion back to the Premier League, Iheanacho is set to leave the club this summer. He’s rejected a deal to stay with the Foxes, so his options are wide open. Aston Villa is one team with a keen interest in Iheanacho, especially if they lose Ollie Watkins. That would allow the Nigerian striker to play in Champions League. Fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace, as well as Turkish club Trabzonspor have also been linked with Iheanacho, so he will have several options this summer.

While Iheanacho could potentially feature in next season’s Champions League, the final of this year’s competition is yet to be played. There are still opportunities to place a wager on what side will lift the trophy. All of the top soccer betting sites offer competitive odds on competitions from all over the world. Wilfred Ndidi

Ndidi is another Nigerian player at Leicester City who is poised to leave the Foxes after helping them get back to the Premier League. The midfielder has been with Leicester since 2017, making well over 200 appearances for the club on top of his 56 caps with Nigeria. The likes of Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Newcastle have all been connected with Ndidi thus far. There is no clear frontrunner at the moment, although it looks increasingly likely that Ndidi will have a new club by the end of the summer.

Victor Boniface

It has truly been a remarkable season for Boniface. The young Nigerian was Bayer Leverkusen’s leading scorer in the Bundesliga and was named the league’s top rookie of the season while helping the club to the Bundesliga title and an undefeated season. The question is whether he wants to stay with the Bundesliga champs or pursue opportunities elsewhere. Teams like Newcastle, West Ham United, and Napoli have already come calling for him. There’s no guarantee that Boniface will end up leaving Leverkusen, as he does appear committed to the club. But he will have other options to at least consider.
