First, avoid drinking water immediately before or after meals. Doing so can dilute the stomach acids that help digest food. This may lead to bloating, indigestion, or poor nutrient absorption. It is best to drink water 30 minutes before eating or about an hour after a meal.
Second, avoid drinking water just before going to bed. Drinking water at night can interrupt your sleep because you may need to wake up several times to urinate. This can prevent deep rest and make you feel tired in the morning. If you feel thirsty before bed, take only small sips.
Third, do not drink water right after intense exercise when your body is very hot. Doing so may shock your system and cause stomach cramps. It is better to take small sips slowly to cool your body down gradually.
Fourth, avoid drinking water immediately after waking up if you have a sensitive stomach. It’s better to rinse your mouth first to remove bacteria that build up overnight, then drink a glass of warm water a few minutes later.
Lastly, do not drink water while standing. When you drink water in a standing position, it flows quickly through the body without proper absorption. This can strain your kidneys and nerves. Always sit down and sip slowly.
In conclusion, water is vital, but timing matters. Drink wisely and give your body the chance to absorb and use it effectively for better health.
